Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal information The Home Reform collects, why, what we do with it, and the choices and rights you have.

Who We Are

The Home Reform Ltd is a company registered in England and Wales (company number 12779959). We decide how your personal information is used, which makes us its controller under UK data protection law. You can reach us about anything in this policy at hello@thehomereform.co.uk. Our registered office address is on our Companies House record.

What We Collect and Why

When you get in touch. If you use the contact form or email us, we receive your name, email address, your phone number if you give it, the service you are interested in, and whatever you tell us about your project. We use it to reply and to talk through how we might help. Our lawful basis is taking steps at your request before entering into a contract, or, where you are simply asking a question, our legitimate interest in answering it.

If you become a client. We also hold the address of the property, plans, measurements and photographs of the rooms we are working on, details you share about how you live, and billing details. We use these to design and deliver your project and to invoice for it. Our lawful basis is our contract with you, and our legal obligation to keep accounting records.

When you browse the site. Only if you choose to accept analytics cookies, we use Google Analytics to see how visitors use the site: pages viewed, the kind of device and browser, roughly where in the world a visit comes from, and how you arrived. We look at this as totals to improve the site, not to identify anyone. Our lawful basis is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time. Like any website, our server also records basic technical details of each request, including your IP address, which we use only to keep the site running and secure (our legitimate interest).

Cookies

We only set cookies if you accept them. If you do, Google Analytics sets _ga and a cookie beginning _ga_, which last up to six months. Your choice itself is remembered in your browser (not in a cookie) for six months, after which we ask again. You can change your mind at any time from the Cookie Settings link at the foot of every page; if you withdraw consent, we stop Google Analytics and remove its cookies.

Who Handles Your Information

We never sell your information or share it for anyone else’s marketing. We use a small number of trusted services to run the studio and the site, each of which handles information only on our instructions:

  • Google Workspace, for our email and documents
  • Google Analytics, for site statistics, only if you consent
  • Resend, which delivers messages sent through the contact form to our inbox
  • Hetzner, which hosts the website on servers in the EU

When we carry out a project, we may share relevant details with the builders, makers and suppliers involved, with your agreement. We may also share information with our professional advisers, or where the law requires it.

Where Your Information Is Held

Google and Resend may process information in the United States. Where they do, it is protected by the UK’s recognised safeguards for transfers: the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, or the approved contract terms (the UK International Data Transfer Addendum). The website itself is hosted in the EU, which the UK recognises as giving adequate protection.

How Long We Keep It

  • Enquiries that do not go on to become a project: up to two years from our last contact
  • Client records: six years after a project ends, as required for tax and accounting
  • Messages passing through Resend: deleted by Resend after 30 days
  • Google Analytics: individual visit data is kept for two months; only anonymous totals are kept after that
  • Server logs: 14 days

Your Rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to:

  • ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you
  • have anything inaccurate corrected
  • ask us to delete your information
  • ask us to limit how we use it
  • object to our using it, including on the basis of legitimate interests
  • receive information you gave us in a portable format
  • withdraw your consent at any time, where we rely on it

To use any of these rights, email hello@thehomereform.co.uk. We will reply within one month. We do not make decisions about anyone by purely automated means.

Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first at hello@thehomereform.co.uk so we can put it right. We will acknowledge your complaint within 30 days. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office, the UK regulator, at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113.

We will update this page if anything here changes, and the date below will show when it was last revised.
